Ahhh, 2020. . . It's officially the New Year, which also happens to be a new decade, and with both these things in mind you've probably come up with a few ideas on changes you'd like to make or implement in your personal and professional life. We all get excited over the start of a new year; it's a clean slate to start fresh and an opportunity to be hopeful in attaining more success than you've had in previous years. With such busy lives, our good intentions get pushed to the bottom of the pile and we lose track of all the great things we wanted to do. Without proper planning achieving goals and sticking to those New Year’s resolutions both inside and outside of the workplace can be extremely difficult and overwhelming.
So, during the month, I will be sharing some helpful tips to help you cross the finish line and find personal satisfaction in achieving your goals. We will focus on:
1. Identifying realistic goals and how to plan to achieve them;
2. Being committed and motivated to investing in yourself;
3. Ownership and accountability of your progress;
4. Measuring your success.
To get you started and to get those professional juices flowing you should take a look at your resume. I mean really pull it out, dust it off and look at it! If your resume hasn't been updated in the past twelve months, then it is time for a professional review and update. The look and layout of resumes change every so many years and what you used back in 2010 is not what you want to use in 2020!
